The Chung Shan Hot Spring Golf Club was opened in 1984.  It has two 18 holes International standard golf courses, designed by two world-class golfers Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus.  The Arnold Palmer Course is the first International standard golf course in China. Both courses are widely regarded as the best golf courses in China by “Golf Digest”.  The Chung Shan Hot Spring Golf Club is committed to foster and develop golf in China.

In the past 25 years, golf is rapidly developed in China.  Attracting more and more investments in building golfing facilities and golf resorts, there are over 400 golf courses in China nowadays.  In the coming 5 years, the numbers of golf course will increase to over 1,000.  Golfing is a newly developed industry in China, it provides over 200,000 job posts and there are over 500,000 golfers in China.  A number of large scale international golf tournaments are held in China, attracting more overseas golfers and tourists to visit China which will bring enormous new business opportunities. 

The speedy building of world class golf courses, 24-hour golfing TV channel, golfing magazines are published periodically in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen as well as the golfing websites widely spread the news in golfing.  The Chinese Professional Golfers won several international tournaments; it makes golf more popular in China.  The China golfing team is preparing for the Guangzhou Asian Game 2010, aims to win medals.  The Royal and Ancient Golf Club and the PGA Tour, are endeavoring to push golf as one of the official games in Olympic Game 2016.  That will require outstanding professional golfers to represent China to win the prizes.
